Predators re-sign Paul Gaustad to a 4 year/$13 million contract

News broke a few hours ago that the Nashville Predators re-signed faceoff specialist Paul Gaustad to a four year, $13 million dollar contract. The signing of the deal came less than 24 hours before the NHL’s free agency kicked off, where Gaustad would have been most likely pursued by his previous employer, the Buffalo Sabres.

Christmas in July: The Predators "Realistic" Wish List

Hopefully Santa will be in the gift-giving mode early this year and bring the Predators some much needed pieces for a solid team this year. With the departure of Andrei Kostitsyn and Alexander Radulov with the looming departure of Jordin Tootoo and possibly Ryan Suter, it’ll be up to GM David Poile to fish out […]

BREAKING NEWS: Hal Gill re-signs with the Nashville Predators

Speculated by many as possibly happening by the end of the week (including myself), Nashville has re-upped Hal Gill for 2 more years and at a total of $4 million dollars. The mammoth defenseman was traded for near the end of the last season and tightened the final defensive pairing for the Predators.

Why Nashville Can Live Without Suter

As the minutes tick by and the days count down until free agency begins Sunday morning, the city of Nashville is starting to feel like they are living their daily lives in a sauna, and not just because the temperature is beginning to spill over into triple digits. Ryan Suter has the entire organization at […]

The New Look of the Nashville Predators

The news out of Nashville has been interesting at best and deflating at worst. After listening to Josh Cooper who covers the Predators for the Tennessean on 102.5 the Game yesterday, the pessimists glass is whole-heartedly half-empty and in danger of drying out entirely. Coupled with the news of Bouillon’s services coming to an end […]

How Did My "20 Bold Predictions" Fare? A Look Back…

Back in September, prior to the start of the 2011/2012 NHL season, I made a series of 20 bold predictions for the upcoming season. A lot of these predictions were bold….and I mean VERY bold, but nonetheless I put my reputation a bit out there on the line to take a crack at how I […]

You Think Weber Got Snubbed…Imagine How Mike Green Feels.

Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators was once again by the slimmest of margins not voted the winner of the Norris Trophy for Best ALL AROUND Defenseman. The award went to Erik Karlsson who had an outstanding year offensively to lead all other defensemen by 25 points. Many would argue that Karlsson does not […]

PRESS RELEASE: Nashville Predators Sign Mueller to a One-Year Contract

Well, I’ve always liked the play of Chris Mueller. He’s done well when called up, nothing spectacular yet, but produces heavily on the AHL level (especially as Milwaukee’s leading scorer last season). He’ll be on a 2-way contract again for one more season with Nashville, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens this year […]

Time (and Leverage) Keeps on Slippin'…..

It is a slow plodding course that GM David Poile and soon to be UFA Ryan Suter have been navigating for the past year. Neither side seems to be flinching and the Draft is getting closer and closer by the day.
