The Predators Clash with the Oilers

After missing 16 games due to injury, P.K. Subban was back for the Predators when they last clashed with the Edmonton Oilers a few days ago in their away game at Rogers Place. This was certainly the right time for him to be back, against an Oilers team that had won four straight games. That said, the Predators had won their last six games in Edmonton with just 6 total goals allowed, and once again they proved to be one level as Nashville picked up the bonus point with a 3-2 shootout win. This was their seven wins in a row against Edmonton.

Four points in just 48 hours meant that the Predators are now tied for third position in the Central Division and are in the First Western Conference Wild Card. Ryan Ellis was able to score in regulation and also the shootout. Victor Arvidsson scored for the eleventh time as he opened the scoring. The predators remain the only team in the National Hockey League without a regulation loss when scoring first. Defenseman P.K. Subban finished at a 1+ in just under 23 minutes of ice-time in his return. He has earned 17 pts in twenty-nine games this season, and he has even won captaincy recently in the 2017 Honda All-Star Game by fan votes. The game winner was scored by Ellis during the shootout for Nashvillle, and it was his fourth goal in the last 48 hours.

Nashville have snapped the Oilers 4 games winning streak. The Edmonton Oilers have not beaten the Predators since 18 March 2014 and now the next clash against these two teams is scheduled on the 3rd of February. This will be their second meeting of three meetings between these teams this season. This time it will be the Oilers who will make their trip to Nashville, where they will be looking for a revenge. The projected line-up is still unpredictable and should be known a few days before they host the Oilers.
